India has three major seasons: summer, monsoon and winter. Summer, running April through June, is hot, humid and sticky in most of the country. During monsoon season, from July through September, the plain receives the major share of its rainfall (which means it rains a good deal!). Winter months, which are from October through March, are generally pleasant throughout India, with bright sunny days.
Our India, My 2nd Home/India Jewish Heritage tour runs mid- to late-January, the most popular time to travel to India because of its favorable climate.
